At Building Heroes, we’re committed to supporting every learner — wherever you are on your journey. Whether you’ve joined us for personal development, to secure new employment in construction, to explore self-employment opportunities, or because you’re unsure of your next steps, we’re here to help you make the most of your time on our programmes and transition confidently into civilian life.
We recognise that the path after service looks different for everyone, and that’s why we work with a community of trusted partners who share our mission to help the Armed Forces community recruit, reskill and redeploy successfully.
One of our key partners in this mission is the Forces Transition Group (FTG) — a veteran-led organisation dedicated to helping Service Leavers, Veterans, and their families transition well. Their lived experience and proven success make them the perfect partner for Building Heroes.
Together, we’ve embedded three core employability workshops into every Building Heroes training programme, ensuring that all learners receive consistent, high-quality support and ongoing access to FTG’s expertise as they prepare for life beyond service.

Every Building Heroes learner begins with an online CV Masterclass overview, guiding you through the fundamentals of CV building — from structure and layout to translating your Service experience into language that resonates with civilian employers.
After completing the online session, every Building Hero can access free, ongoing 1-to-1 CV support at your convenience — either during programme downtime or immediately after your course. These sessions can help a Building Hero hone and tailor the best possible CV(s) for their job search, whether that’s within construction or beyond.
With FTG experts to guide you, they will help you sharpen your civilian pitch and make a confident first impression.

LinkedIn is one of the most powerful tools for discovering new opportunities. In this workshop, our Building Heroes participants will learn how to:
This interactive session helps individuals build a professional presence that reflects who they are and where they want to go.

This live, interactive workshop helps the Building Hero prepare for interviews with confidence. Gaining tools and techniques to perform at their best, and an invitation to take part in mock interviews through the “hot seat” experience — practising real interview scenarios and receiving constructive feedback.
Nothing prepares you like reality, and this session ensures you’re ready to shine when it counts.

Your relationship with FTG doesn’t end when your course does. All Building Heroes learners will continue to have ongoing access to FTG’s support after completing their training, ensuring that your transition into civilian life — whether into construction or another sector — continues smoothly and successfully.
Together, Building Heroes and Forces Transition Group provide a consistent, structured, and supportive pathway to help every learner build confidence, unlock opportunity, and transition well.
