50 Peaks in 5 Days

Fundraising Event

Building Heroes graduate Chris Pritchard and nine others are taking part in the 50 Peaks in 5 Days challenge. The challenge consists of attempting to scale 50 UK Mountain Peaks in 5 Days across Wales, England and Scotland. This great challenge is in aid of three amazing charities - Building Heroes, Friends of Colnbrook and Rugby Against Cancer.

Chris Pritchard graduated from Building Heroes back in January 2022 and has since found work. After leaving the military, he wanted to use his transferable skills in a new career in civilian life. That is where Building Heroes came in. They provided the skills, confidence and access to jobs within construction, providing him with a City & Guilds Constructions skills qualification which led him into the career he’s in today.

Chris wanted to give back to Building Heroes and he felt it was only fitting that he chooses them as one of the chosen charities that they are supporting for this tough 5 day challenge.

Building Heroes graduate Chris Pritchard said: “I wanted to show my appreciation for the great charity, Building Heroes, as they have helped me in more ways than just training. They also provided me with future employment guidance and opportunities which has led me to where I am now. Choosing them as one of our chosen charities was the least I could do to say thank you. Myself and the team are both excited and nervous for the challenge taking part on the 29th June, so we would be deeply grateful for any donations.”

Karen Jefford, Chief Operating Officer also commented: “We are very proud and honoured for Chris and the team choosing us as one of the chosen charities for their huge challenge taking place in the summer. We are extremely grateful for any donations all of which continue to support the work we do and provide our military community a gateway to a new career in construction. Best of luck to everyone involved."
